"After a short Summer project as part of my MSc, I continued my work on into an interdisciplinary PhD between the York Plasma Institute in the department of physics and the Cancer Research Unit in the department of biology. I'm looking to develop a brand new treatment for prostate cancer, using something called cold plasma. In the last few years we have shown that cold plasmas damage the DNA of prostate cancer cells, reduce their ability to multiply after treatment, and ultimately kill them within only a few hours. I now hope to develop our initial findings on towards a future treatment for men with early-diagnosed prostate cancer."
