Maria Berghs
Dr Maria Berghs is a social and cultural anthropologist and a research fellow in the Department of Health Sciences at the University of York. Maria specialises in disability studies, specifically looking at understanding the relationship between disability, inequality and conflict, understanding the impact of genetic testing of sickle cell for fathers and reviewing evidence and developing rights-based tools that would lead to disability equity in public health research. She does research with patients, communities and voluntary sector partners across the United Kingdom and was also a member of the Ebola Response Anthropology Platform.
