“Once a physicist, always a physicist” - Mark Wrigley graduated in physics from the University of Leeds in the 1970s when “coding” came on punch cards and pocket calculators were an expensive luxury. His career has encompassed development, sales, marketing and product management in fields as diverse as digital mobile phone infrastructure o optical and near infra-red gas turbine blade temperature measurement. He is now semi-retired, a Council Member of the Institute of Physics and runs his own company “Alternative-Photonics”, which works to transfer knowledge from academia to industry and the general community. He is passionate about the democratisation of science and its role of empowering individuals in a democratic society.”
