Barbara Procacci completed her PhD in Chemistry at the University of York investigating how molecules convert from one form into another by light induced processes. She then decided to stay in York as postdoctoral research associate to work on a project developing a novel method aimed at following the detailed route taken by molecules between the start and end point of very fast light-initiated reactions.
“A long time ago I read this book where someone said…Let there be light, and there was light! …and the light was good! Well, I think I agree and we should make use of it! I love shining light on my molecules and observing the diversity of phenomena which can arise from this simple process! It never ceases to amaze me!”
