Can you beat a passport controller at spotting fake passport photos? How do you learn to recognise people you meet? Can a computer really recognise you? Find out the answers to these questions and more at this fully interactive event. Members of the York FaceVar Lab will demonstrate their work on some of the key issues surrounding face perception. You will be able to try out tasks used in research, as well as every-day face matching tasks such as those undertaken by passport controllers. This series of interactive exhibits has something for everyone and is suitable for people of all ages.
