Thomas Henry is a PhD student in nuclear physics at the University of York.
“My interest in physics was sparked by a very enthusiastic A-Level teacher, though it wasn't my best subject at that stage it's what I decided to do at University. As part of my undergraduate degree at Surrey I had the option of spending a year on a professional placement. At that point I had found nuclear physics the most interesting course, so I decided to try and do a nuclear physics placement."
"I managed to work for a year doing nuclear isomer research at the Youngstown Isomer Physics Project, at the Youngstown State University in Ohio, USA. I found the intricacies of nuclear physics along with the experimental techniques intriguing and set upon a road to bring myself to where I am now.”
