Sarah Spooner is a CIRCLE Research Officer and also studying for a PhD in the Environment Department.
“I have a degree in Biological Sciences and Education Studies and am also a qualified primary school teacher with a passion for learning outside the classroom. Previously I worked as an Education Officer in a zoo in Surrey where I made public presentations, taught school groups, and ran outreach sessions to various institutions. I also worked with the ZSL London BUGS team and Education departments. “
“My PhD research is looking at the impact of zoo education on public attitudes and behaviours towards conservation. A major part of my focus is on the role of zoos in influencing educational achievement, particularly the impact on different socioeconomic groups.”
“In my spare time I love dancing, and I regularly take part in shows and competitions with the University dance society.”
