Raquel De Almeida Rocha Ponzoni

Raquel De Almeida Rocha Ponzoni’s research field is Physics combined with Biology at the University of York. She is applying Raman spectroscopy to identify stem cells and also study their differentiation into bone tissues. This can be used in bone engineering.

“I was always interested in photography and when I saw some fabulous images of the Orion Nebula, I started to wonder if I could take some similar pictures. That's how Astronomy came into my life!”
