Kyle Stevens achieved a BSc in Biochemistry from Ithaca College, New York, in 2010. In 2009-10, he worked for the New York State Department of Health as a Public Health Inspector. Kyle is now studying for a PhD as part of the CAPACITIE Project. His specific project explores how environmental specimen banking can be used to understand pollution in cities.
“I am interested in environmental contaminant research because I find it fascinating, challenging and extremely relevant given the current pollution problems faced by society. Studying the fate and behaviour of chemicals both in the lab and in the real world is extremely important for understanding risks to the environment.”
