Kate Lancaster is the Plasma and Fusion industrial officer for the York Plasma Institute, at the University of York.
“My work involves connecting the research that goes on in the institute with industry, fostering collaborations, and nurturing spin-outs. I also spend part of my time helping UK industry win contracts from ITER, the next step fusion project in Cadarache, France. “
“My research is in laser plasma interactions and laser driven fusion. I was awarded a PhD from Imperial College in Advanced Fast Ignition studies (laser driven fusion) whilst based in the Central Laser Facility at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, where I worked until 2011.”
