Hannah Black achieved her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at the University of Liverpool.
“Having really enjoyed learning all about how cells work I wanted to pursue a career in cell biology research, however I was unsure in what exact area. So, to get a better idea of what it was like to be a full-time researcher, I did a one-year MSc by research at the University of York. This involved doing a research project and writing it up as a thesis at the end of the year, like a mini-PhD. Doing this convinced me that research was for me and so I started my PhD."
"The thing I most enjoy about research is that you are always learning new things. I have always enjoyed my education and a career in science research is like a continuation of this; you and the people around you are always discovering new things and hearing about the latest new developments in research from around the world.”
