Federico Sabbadin

Federico Sabbadin is a post-doctoral research scientist studying the digestive system of a marine mollusc, the shipworm, which has the unique ability to feed on wood and convert it to simple sugars.

“The project, funded by the BBSRC, aims at mimicking this property for the production of second generation biofuels. At YorNight I will provide a virtual tour inside enzyme discovery and show some simple colourful analyses that are routinely carried out in the lab.”
