Andre De Lima Ponzoni is doing his PhD at the University of York in a research field combined with Archaeology. The aim is to use Raman spectroscopy, a non-destructive technique, to analyse shells: unlocking features that can be used to date and to identify different species.
“My interest in Astronomy came with observations of the amazingly dark sky we have in the city where I live in Brazil, in a place with very low light pollution.”
