“I am a medical sociologist with a background in doing qualitative research in multi-disciplinary and culturally diverse settings. My work has a particular focus on understanding the social consequences of various long standing, chronic conditions, including sickle cell and thalassemia disorders. I am interested in how the understanding of disease has changed throughout time and how ideas that may have seemed ridiculous at one point have actually significantly improved our knowledge of it.
