Charlie Rowley is an ERC Scholarship-funded PhD Student in the Department of Archaeology at the University of York working on material from prehistoric sites in the Vale of Pickering in Yorkshire.
“I’m specialising in the analysis of stone tools and soils as part of a multi-method approach to bring out the details of the way of life of the hunter-gatherers who once lived there. I love the buzz of handling something someone touched, used, relied on, and possibly even cherished, thousands of years ago, as well as the kick when you get a little bit further towards unravelling the mystery of artefacts and sites using scientific techniques.”
