Alexandre Lucquin is a post-doctoral researcher in the Department of Archaeology at the University of York.
“My research interests concern prehistoric diet, cooking practice and daily life. I am working on a project where we are looking at the usage of the oldest clay pots in the world, coming from the end of the last Ice Age in Japan. To do it, we are analysing the molecular residues which are trapped and preserved within them. As far back as I can remember I’ve wanted to be an archaeologist. I took part in my first excavation while I was in high school in France a long time ago. Even if I spend a lot of time in the laboratory, I like to be in the field making direct contact with the past.”
