“My core specialism is the excavation, analysis and interpretation of metal remains, using a combination of archaeometric (archaeological science) and archaeological approaches. I have a strong interest in the properties, production and producation of metals in sub-Saharan Africa, having led research projects in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, and being involved in research in Rwanda and Mali. I’ve worked on the analysis of a range of material, including copper- and iron-working remains, ceramics, glass and amber from China, the UK, Spain, northern India, Russia and Cambodia.“
