“I became interested in Artificial Intelligence from a young age through its use in computer games. The ability to have characters in the game act with rich behaviours and demonstrate complex thinking fascinated me. This led to me pursuing a degree in computer science at York, and subsequently following it with a PhD in Artificial Intelligence. My current role has brought me full circle back to games in an exciting role applying methods of Artificial Intelligence to extract knowledge of social and scientific benefit from the gameplay of others.”
