“I have always been filled with a strong curiosity that meant I was still asking ‘why’ long after many children had outgrown this trait, so it was probably inevitable that I would end up working in research! My education saw me move through many subject areas that held a strong interest for me, from completing my undergraduate studies in Communications (Film and Media Studies, through to an MPhil degree in Women’s studies and a PhD in Medicine! A mixed bag, which allows me bring many different perspectives to my research."
"My interest in ageing was generated through a number of personal circumstances, which really made me question our society’s attitude to disability and ageing. Developing new technologies for older people is vital, given the ageing of society in Europe and beyond. My current research is exploring how to best engage with older adults in the design of technologies that will help them in independent living.“
