Research and invention often calls for courageous and creative thinking. Everyone can be a researcher! Your idea doesn’t have to be realistic – everything from self-stirring pots to black hole generators is welcome. So unleash your imagination – send us your amazing invention!

Competition runs from 8 August until 20 October. Submissions after the deadline will not be accepted.
Participants may submit individually or as a group. In case of individual entry, the participant must be a UK resident. In case of group entry, at least one member of the group must be a UK resident. All ages are welcome. There’s no limit to the number of submissions sent by an individual or by a group.
The submission can be a drawing, a digital picture, a photograph or a video. It must include name(s) of the author(s) and a short description of the idea up to 200 words. The description might include an explanation of how the invention works, where it can be used and why it is useful.
The entries will be published on the YorNight Facebook page. The published idea will include a description and the name(s) of the author(s). Should the author want to remain anonymous, it must be clearly indicated in the submission.
The winner(s) will be chosen by the YorNight team by 31 October.
