Anti-malarial drugs save thousands of lives every year, but how did these incredible medicines come about? At CNAP’s Artemisia Research Project you will able to find out about important research on the medicinal plant Artemsia annua (the major source of the antimalarial drug artemisinin) and the disease it battles with.
Come and look at the plant cells that save lives under a microscope, play a computer-based ‘plant-breeder’ game where you can create your own medicinal plants and create your own colourful wooden bookmarks! Even get a chance to win your own mosquito plush toy!
