Department of Archaeology 40th Anniversary Open Lectures Series
Martin Carver will talk on the Anglo-Saxon Royal Burial Ground at Sutton Hoo, where he has directed research since 1983. The on-site museum is having a makeover which will open in April and a full-sized version of the ship found under Mound 1 is currently under construction. The talk will explore the site and connect it with the monuments of other mound-builders world wide.
