York Drug Science Society Lecture

In this talk, Amanda Guzinska, the Senior Manager of PsyCare UK, will discuss festival welfare, psychedelic harm reduction, and the critical importance of psychedelic crisis intervention. Amanda will explore how these drug-induced crises can manifest—ranging from emotional overwhelm to more complex psychological and physical responses—and she will highlight how to address each scenario to avoid lasting psychological harm. She will share success stories of how effective support can transform potentially traumatic experiences into moments of personal growth. Amanda will also discuss the history of PsyCare UK and the unique cultural, social and legal challenges it faces as an organisation.
