History of Art Research Seminar
This talk examines how the Contemporary Art Society (CAS) fundraised in collaboration with commercial art galleries in London’s interwar art market. It will identify the involvement of Roger Fry in facilitating such cross-sector arrangements, and their importance and contribution towards securing foreign art for Tate’s collection.
