A collaboration between York and Oxford, "Narratives of Video Game Play" is a network project exploring the potential of serious games as a medium in which to work through complex decision-making. The larger goal is to produce game play tools which are adaptable to specific contexts (for example, the social and ecological dimensions of village farming in Cameroon), and which can facilitate discussion about the issues involved. The project is particularly concerned with the dissonance between complex decision-making and narrative explanations of it.
