The third Narrative and Complex Systems workshop took place in York from the 15th to 17th July, with participants from across the UK and Europe. The event, funded by the Research Priming Fund, served as an occasion for the intensive development of several funding applications that the group currently has in process; and for an exchange of preliminary presentations about members' essays for the forthcoming Springer volume, Narrating Complexity, which will be instrumental in setting the agenda for the research projects envisaged by the group. The event was supplemented by three virtual presentations from group members unable to attend in person.
The workshop took place in the Berrick Saul Treehouse, and was an excellent instance of the interdisciplinary exchange cultivated by the NarCS group, including presentations from the perspectives of literary and cognitive narrative theory, film studies, digital arts, science communication, social science, life sciences, computer sciences and artificial intelligence.
