Some of the greatest acts of scientific creativity described by a somewhat uncreative scientist

Thursday 26 May 2011, 12.45PM

Speaker(s): Paul Walton, Department of Chemistry

Creativity across the Disciplines seminar

Faraday, Newton, Hodgkin, Watson and Crick: did these scientists have to be deeply creative to have achieved what they achieved? This talk doesn't seek to answer this question by analysis, but instead--by presenting their discoveries through the eyes of a practising scientist--it invites the audience to see the work of these scientists from a different point of view. Then, the audience can make up its own mind on whether they, and scientists in general, are indeed creative.
