Monday 24 January 2011, 7.00PM
Opening Night: 24 January 2011
Exhibition: 24 January 2011 – 4 February 2011
Adeline de Monseignat's work aims to awaken the viewer's sensations and emotions by creating uncanny scenarios in which it is often the artwork that is asking a question rather than imposing itself on the viewer.
Widely varied in terms of the organic forms and tones of her artworks, this exhibition brings together a great number of recent objects, sculptures, paintings, drawings, and surprising installations brought to life thanks to natural materials such as wood, paper, coffee and eggshell.
With inspiration found in movements such as Surrealism and Arte Povera, de Monseignat is interested in finding harmony in the contrasting qualities of strength and fragility, by incorporating the trickery of the eye through visual illusions.
