Thursday 13 February 2014, 6.00PM to 7.30pm
To help celebrate the twentieth anniversary of Eve Kosofsky Sedgwick's Fat Art Thin Art, and her status as one of the leading poets as well as critics of her generation, the Centre for Modern Studies is delighted to host a poetry reading by a number of tomorrow's contributors, who similarly and deliciously straddle the academy and the world of poetry.
The evening will include a reading by Mary Baines Campbell, the author of two books of poems, The World, The Flesh and Angels (Beacon, 1989) and Trouble: Poems (Carnegie Mellon, 2003), as well as a leading scholar of Renaissance and Early Modern culture. It will also include a cast reading of Sedgwick’s Dr.Seussian queer bedtime story for children, Pandas in Trees.
Drinks will be served and everyone is welcome.
