I completed my MA at the York Centre for Medieval Studies in 2000. My dissertation was an edited transcription of the 1364 survey of chantries in York Minster, which I understand will be included in the Borthwick Institute’s next publication. My PhD, an edition of the cartulary of Alvingham priory, was completed in 2010 in the Department of History at the University of York, and was published in 2018 by the Lincoln Record Society. My current project is the preparation of an edition of the cartulary of Malton priory, another Gilbertine house (British Library Cotton Claudius D. XI). I have created an unpublished database of the names and careers of Gilbertine canons using, mainly, bishops’ registers and I am generally interested in the Gilbertine order and its organisation. I am employed as a (very) part-time assistant in an archive in York, which contains documents dating from the 13thC to the present.
