York Mathematics Fellowship Development Bursary
The York Mathematics Fellowship Development Bursary is an award of up to £1000 for an Early Career Researcher to visit York for one week to develop an application for an Early Career Fellowship to be held at York.
The scheme is now open for applications in 2026. There is a deadline of 31 March 2026 for applications to be considered in the first round. Subsequent applications will be considered if funds remain, up to a deadline of 30 June 2026. The intention is that the visit would be made during May to July 2026, with the week of 25 May being the preferred week. The visit should normally take place at least two months before the closure date of the relevant scheme. During the visit, we would offer professional and academic mentoring, a chance to give a seminar and to meet existing ECRs and staff. It is essential that the applicant has made contact with a staff member and has a workable date in mind for the visit.
Up to 3 awards are given per year. For candidates not able to travel there would be no financial component but we would offer virtual support and mentoring.
The bursary could be to support an application to any suitable scheme. Please check the eligibility criteria carefully.
If you are interested in applying for the bursary then please contact the member of staff you wish to work with and complete the form.
