Major funding secured for newly announced Integrated Quantum Networks Hub
Researchers from Mathematics, Computer Science and the School of Physics, Engineering and Technology have secured major funding for a newly announced Integrated Quantum Networks Hub.
Researchers from the Mathematics, Computer Science departments and the School of Physics, Engineering and Technology at York have secured £3M as part of the newly announced Integrated Quantum Networks Hub. The research aims to underpin a UK-wide network of
quantum communication links at a variety of scales, from short distance ground links to global connections using satellites. These will in turn enable future-proof cybersecurity and powerful distributed quantum computing. This funding is part of a wider £100 million investment in quantum technologies.
Within the Mathematics department, Roger Colbeck will lead a team developing next-generation secure protocols to run over
such networks.
