Mathematicians put famous Battle of Britain “what if” scenarios to the test

Mathematicians have used a statistical technique to interrogate some of the big “what if” questions in the Second World War battle for Britain’s skies
Working with historians Ian Horwood and Chris Price from York St John University, University of York's Niall MacKay, Jamie Wood and PhD student Brennen Fagan have applied the statistical technique of "weighted bootstrapping" to counterfactual history, to interrogate some of the big “what if” questions in the World War II battle for Britain’s skies.
