Dr Ariadne Beatrice Kapetanaki
Senior Lecturer in Marketing

Biography

I joined the School for Business and Society in 2019.

My research expertise is in social marketing and particularly in the area of food and healthy eating. My research interests lie at the nexus of marketing, food, public health and policy and I work on many interdisciplinary projects. I hold a PhD in food policy and social marketing from City University London, UK, an MSc in Healthcare Management from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and a BSc in Marketing and Communication from the Athens University of Economics and Business. For my PhD studies I received a full scholarship from the Alexander S Onassis Public Benefit Foundation.

Prior to my current role I held senior lecturer positions at Hertfordshire Business School and New York College. Before joining academia I worked as a training and development manager in a private hospital.

I am Section Editor for BMC Public Health (section health policies, systems and management in low and middle-income countries), fellow of the Lancet Commission on Obesity, fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy (HEA) and founder member of the European Social Marketing Association (ESMA).
