Maastricht Robotics visit

We hosted a most enjoyable visit from Maastricht colleagues to the Institute of Safe Autonomy at the University of York in late May to explore collaboration in a range of areas.

New robotics initiative

Led by Professor Thomas Cleji, a group of colleagues from Maastricht's Faculty of Science and Engineering and the Department of Advance Computing Sciences visited York to discuss potential new research collaborations, and to learn more about facilities and structure of York's robotics labs.

During the visit, we discovered that there were many complementarities between the ISA at York and Maastricht's new robotics initiative, and we plan to develop a structural collaboration in robotics and AI going forward. First, we are planning a joint robotics symposium at Maastricht's Brussels hub in the autumn, and we look forward to welcoming York and UM colleagues for further visits as we get to know each other better.
