Ludwig Wittgenstein’s writings on language and thought changed the way philosophers look at the world. Although adamant that the deep logical structure of the world could not be meaningfully stated, he nevertheless endeavoured to show it in his seminal treatise the Tractatus. Following a philosophical crisis, Wittgenstein's work culminates in a profound pluralism, encompassing topics such as faith, reason and reality under one umbrella. This course will look at Wittgenstein’s life and work, and the keystones of his evolving philosophy.
