Saturday 8 March 2025, 10.00AM to 1.00pm
Speaker(s): Ed Willems PhD
Gender is a difficult subject to philosophise about. Is it most appropriate to conceive of gender in terms of social status, gender norms, oppression, self-identification, or something else? One of the most basic difficulties with coming up with a philosophical account of gender categories is putting everyone in the right boxes. Arguably no account can yet do this satisfactorily. This short course tackles this problem head on, exploring cutting-edge research in the metaphysics of gender and gender vocabulary.
