No text has so profoundly influenced Western culture as the Bible, inspiring some of our greatest intellectual, political, and social endeavours. Yet this text has its own complex history from the earliest Hebrew Scriptures (c. 1200 B.C.E) to the Greek New Testament (c. 60-120 C.E.) to modern vernacular translations. This study day will provide a survey of the history and formation of the Biblical texts introducing students to some of the key debates surrounding its transmission and translation.
