Speaker(s): Ruth Beckett BA MA DPhil
Using the translation by Simon Armitage of the medieval alliterative poem as our prime text, we shall read and discuss The Death of King Arthur. We shall explore the place of this poem in the context of Arthurian literature. What does it add to our understanding of the Arthurian narrative? How are the characters presented? What are the themes? Join us to explore the medieval context of the poem and ways it still speaks to us today.
