Saturday 1 March 2025, 10.00AM to 1.15pm
Speaker(s): Maddy Potter PhD
Wordsworth is remembered as one of the main poets of Romanticism, often praised for extolling the beauty of daffodils and memory. This course provides a survey of his work. We will learn about Wordsworth’s own vision for poetry, and explore some of his lesser-studied poetry, including the ballad ‘The Thorn’ and sections of the blank verse autobiographical ‘The Prelude’. Alongside investigations of his more popular poetry, this course will help us understand more about Wordsworth as a Romantic, and revolutionary, poet.
