Monday 30 September 2024, 7.00PM to 9:00pm
Speaker(s): Milena Schwab-Graham BA MA PhD
In this course, we will place writers of recent fiction in conversation with writers of what we more traditionally associate with modernism of the early twentieth century. How do contemporary writers engage with the ideas, techniques and ideals of their modernist antecedents? What does it mean to be a ‘modern’ writer, then and now? To consider these questions, we will look at writing by Virginia Woolf, Mina Loy, Ali Smith and Rachel Cusk, among others.
