If you are drawn to the passion for nature, light and colour shown by nineteenth-century and early twentieth century European painters and would like to know more about them, this is the course for you. We will introduce the work of Pre-Raphaelite, Impressionist, Rural Naturalist and Macchiaioli artists, explaining many striking and fascinating examples. Together we will consider the artists’ technical innovations and approaches to representing modern life.
