A Tour of Morocco’s Four Imperial Cities: Marrakech, Fez, Rabat and Meknes

The Idrisids (788-974), the Almoravids (1040-1147), the Almohads (1121-1269) and the Merinids (1248-1465) are some of the most well-known Islamic dynasties, which settled and ruled from Morocco. The main focus of the course will be on the imperial cities founded or expanded by the leaders of these dynasties. A detailed view of the impressive buildings and the beautiful artworks and furniture that decorated them will complete the course.
