England in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries was undergoing phenomenal change from a medieval world to one we would increasingly recognise today. This course looks at English society and the experience of its people in this time. We will consider belief, work, popular culture, law and order, the family, household, rebellion and more, as well as taking a look at the sources and advice available on finding and reading documents.
