Animal bone is one of the most common finds recovered on archaeological sites. But how do we identify these bones, and what can they tell us about our history? With a focus on York, this session will introduce methods of working with archaeological animal bone, and how we can use it to explore the various roles animals played in human lives, including in diet, ecology and craft practices. This course will include practical elements.
