Good dialogue is vital to story-telling. Do it well and your characters leap off the page to engage your readers; story-worlds become real and the passions and dilemmas of characters are more deeply felt. Yet literary agents cite dialogue as among the top ten 'faults' found in new manuscripts. It's often overlooked as a dynamic force for story-telling. In this course, we'll unpick the difference between good and bad dialogue and learn to improve our writing by making dialogue truly purposeful.
