The Radiant Art: A History of York Stained Glass

This module will study the history, artistry, skills, and iconographic meanings of York’s stained glass heritage. It will explore the materials and techniques used in glass making since the Middle Ages to Victorian times. Practices including cartoon drawing, vidimus designing and glass-making will be studied. The module will be illustrated throughout by examples from ecclesiastical and secular glass in the city of York.
