This module aims to present students with a wide range of poetic forms, from the traditional to the contemporary, through fixed forms such as the villanelle, to what constitutes free verse. The forms examined will offer students the opportunity to develop and deepen their own imaginative expression. Experimenting with the formality and freedom of form often brings new insights into poetry writing. This module is suitable for those of you who are new to poetry writing as well as those with more experience.
