Point 10 on the self-guided library tour
Welcome to the Fairhurst.
The final video of our tour.
Study spaces of all kinds
On the 1st and 2nd floors of the Fairhurst you will find a wide range of study areas to suit all tastes, including a mix of bookable and non-bookable spaces with a variety of desks, chairs and sofas giving options for single or group study.
Space for Postgraduates
Postgraduate students can use the Postgraduate Study Lounge on the 2nd floor of the Fairhurst. Talk to a Library staff member at the Help Desk to get access to this room.
The Student Kitchen
For those needing a break there is the Fairhurst Kitchen (1st floor) where you can use the facilities to make drinks or heat up food, and the Library Living Room (2nd Floor) where you can take some time out to read or play a board game with friends.
Skills Centres and Labs
There are many great services located with the Fairhurst including the Writing Centre, Maths Skills Centre, Creativity Lab and YorCreate. You will find more QR codes around the Fairhurst to explain what everything is.
That's the end of the tour!
This is the end of our self-led tour but we encourage you to take as much time as you need to fully explore the space. This is your Library and we want you to feel confident and at home here. We look forward to seeing a lot more of you throughout your time at York!
Look out for Extra Stops
We've now put various 'extra stops' on the tour. Look out for the Green Posters - they look like the first ten self-guided tour posters but have 'extra stops' written in the top right corner. You'll find them outside spaces like the Writing Centre and the Creativity Lab, linking directly to pages with useful information about those services.
