Barbara Hutton Collection
The Barbara Hutton Collection comprises 117 items and includes books and pamphlets on architecture in Britain.
A large part of the collection is specifically on vernacular architecture. The books complement the Teulon Porter Collection.
About the collection
The collector
Barbara Hutton (1920-2015) was the founder of the journal 'Vernacular Architecture' and former President of the Yorkshire Vernacular Architecture Group.
Acquisition
Barbara Hutton, who had lived in York until 1986, donated her collection of books to the University. The collection came to the University Library in 2016.
